mai™ Suite System Specification
The mai™ suite is an ASP.NET 2 Web based Client/Server application. This allows users to meet the performance and scalability needs of any organisation, either large or small.
Desktop Requirements
The mai™ suite is accessed from the server via a Web browser on the client’s PC. Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher (with cookies and JavaScript enabled) can be used as the client browser. Thus the technical requirements are minimal:
• Pentium III 166MHz or higher processor
• 256 MB RAM or higher
• Wired or wireless Ethernet card (standard networked PC)
•Microsoft Windows 2000; Windows XP
Database Server
• Pentium IV 1.5GHz or equivalent, dual processor optional
• 36 GB HDD recommended
• Tape backup recommended
• 100 MBps Server Network Adapter
• 1 GB Ram
• Microsoft Windows 2000 Server; Windows 2003 Server
• Microsoft SQL Server 2000/Microsoft SQL Server 2005
Web Server requirements
• Pentium IV 1.5GHz or equivalent
• 1.0 GB of RAM
• 36GB HDD recommended
• 100MBps Server Network Adapter
• Microsoft Windows 2000 Server; Windows 2003 Server
• Microsoft Internet Information Services 5.0 or higher
• Microsoft .NET Framework SDK 2
• Microsoft Internet Information Services 5.0 or greater
Note:
The database and application can both be installed on one server machine - this will have to have the same spec as the Web Server above and also have Microsoft SQL Server 2000 installed. SQL licenses can be provided if required. Backup of data is always the responsibility of the client, unless EHA Soft Solutions are hosting the application.
Performance Considerations
Server RAM and CPU requirements vary depending on your database size (in particular considering the number and file sizes of pictures inserted into the database) and the number of simultaneous users on the network. The above recommendations for RAM and HDD are the minimum requirements for the database and web servers.
External Hosting of mai™
With the .NET platform, a hosting solution is available from EHA Soft Solutions. All the user needs is an internet connection to access the mai™ Suite.
